Technology is not a “special” at Bi-Cultural, it’s a valuable tool that is used to enhance how our students learn every day, both within and beyond the classroom. All classrooms utilize interactive Smartboard activities, iPads and chromebooks to help differentiate and tailor learning to individual learning styles in both General and Judaic Studies. Create a blog, write a Podcast, explore the world on a virtual field trip, connect with friends in Israel, research a topic using a webquest, invite and interact with a guest speaker via Zoom! Our teachers truly bring learning to life through our immersive technology environment.
Students are exposed to features of Google Classroom in Grade 2 and grow their ability to incorporate Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms throughout their elementary years. Using the research-based typing program Type to Learn, students begin learning keyboarding proficiency in Grade 3. They learn how to incorporate video and multimedia into presentations and how to confidently explore the Internet to solidify best practices necessary to emerge into responsible digital citizens. Students enjoy creating surveys enabling them to learn how to explore and analyze data. In the middle years, various elective options offer students the opportunity to explore programming and 3-D printing. BCHA students are well-equipped to independently navigate in-person, virtual and blended learning environments, collaborate and connect through our dynamic EdTech Program.
