BI-CULTURAL HEBREW ACADEMY

Athletics

At Bi-Cultural, our overarching goal is to develop physically literate students who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue, value, and enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. In the earliest grades, students are taught basic motor skills progressions, basic skill development patterns, how to throw and catch, and core fitness exercises and stretches. They learn the rules of how to play numerous cooperative games, explore ropes and rings, yoga basics and everyone enjoys “Golf Week!”

In the elementary years, students are introduced to many team sports such as soccer, volleyball, frisbee, football, basketball, kickball and more, piquing their interest for the various athletic team opportunities that await them beginning in Grade 5! Modeling the value of good sportsmanship is a foundational element of the Bi-Cultural physical education experience and teaching respectful behavior is taught explicitly.

For any questions on the athletics at Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy, contact Karen Cella, Director of Athletics, at Kcella@bcha-ct.org
