24 Apr BCHA Holds Days of Remembrance and Celebration
This past week marked an incredibly important and moving time at BCHA. During the days of Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’Atzmuat, the student body was transformed into a community of people proud to honor, remember, and celebrate their deep connection to Israel.
On Yom Hazikaron, BCHA held a powerful memorial assembly led by Upper School students, honoring those who lost their lives defending Israel and those killed in acts of terror. Students shared the stories and memories of several victims and fallen soldiers, paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of Israel and its people.
In addition to the school’s program, BCHA welcomed representatives from the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), along with several IDF reservists, who spoke with students about their personal experiences and life in Israel in the months following October 7. Their reflections offered students a meaningful opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of resilience, sacrifice, and strength.
The following day, BCHA transitioned from remembrance to celebration as students marked Yom Ha’atzmaut with pride, joy, and energy. Led once again by Upper School students, the day featured music, dancing, and a school-wide field day that reflected the pride for Israel’s Independence Day. Together, students, faculty, and staff embraced the opportunity to celebrate as one community while honoring the significance of the days that came before.
