08 Jan BCHA Middle-School Students Gain Valuable Financial Experience in Stock Market Game
Over the past few months, BCHA’s 7th graders have taken part in the annual Stock Market Game, a program from the Securities Industry and Financial Market Foundation that allows students from grades 4-12 across the country compete in a multi-month simulation of global markets. Students gain hands-on experience with investing, risk management, and long-term financial growth while managing $100,000 in virtual funds. Throughout the program, BCHA’s students explored key financial concepts, including compound interest, dividend stocks, and the differences between mutual funds and ETFs, while learning how thoughtful decision-making impacts outcomes over time.
As the game progressed, participants also learned that successful investing requires discipline, research, responsibility, and a strong foundation in financial literacy. Just as importantly, they examined the risks of the stock market and the importance of making informed, strategic choices, skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.
Leading the way for BCHA is Yoni Notik, who has earned an impressive profit of more than $46,000 on his initial investments. He is joined by fellow 7th graders Eli Lamm, Tzvi Lamm, Max Gordon, Max Kahen Kashani, Julia Tobin, Mathew Sosnovich, and Aryeh Mehl, all of whom have also performed exceptionally well. The competition began on October 13th of 2025, and concludes this February.
