BCHA Upper School Retreat Recap

The school’s Fall Retreat brought students together for two days of fun, friendship, and community, giving the student body a chance to bond as a school community.

The retreat opened Sunday night at BCHA, where students gathered for ice cream, fun, and games. Faculty and the student council led the evening, setting a welcoming tone for everything that followed. With sweet treats in hand and games underway, students had the chance to connect with classmates in a relaxed, lively atmosphere.

On Monday morning, the group started the day with Shacharit and breakfast before heading out together. Their first stop was Mozaic Senior Life in Bridgeport, where students paid a short visit to residents. The visit added a meaningful element to the retreat, connecting the school community with the wider community around it.

From there, the group traveled just down the street to the Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum. The change of pace gave students an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, spend more time with friends, and continue building the connections that began the night before. After a full day, students returned to school, wrapping up the retreat.

The Fall Retreat blended social time, community service, and recreation into a single experience. From Sunday night’s games and ice cream to Monday’s visit with residents and a day at the Adventure Park, the schedule offered something for everyone.

The retreat also highlighted the role of faculty and the student council, who worked together to lead Sunday’s activities and help students feel connected.
