Social Emotional Learning
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps children acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions. Through the lens of our Jewish heritage, students delve into 5 units of study beginning in Grade 2 including:
- “Va’ahavta Ler’aicha Kamocha” – Making healthy social decisions and understanding what it means to care for another person
- Conflict resolution
- “Hakarat Hatov” and Gratitude Mindset
- Growth vs Fixed Mindset
- “Derech Eretz” and the importance of good manners
Through discussions, role plays and activities, children begin the lifelong journey of learning how to set and achieve positive goals, maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions.
