General Studies Overview

Guided by our thoughtful, responsive teachers, our BCHA middle school students learn how to transition from an elementary school “home base” to a rotating middle school schedule featuring content-rich courses. The middle school years are brimming with individualized pursuits of academic exploration and leadership opportunities designed to sharpen intellect, expand skill base, build community responsibility, and deepen the student’s own identity. Our General Studies program is designed to teach not only more advanced content, but also important note-taking skills, advanced study habits, and how to prepare for summative assessments – skills which will benefit our students in middle school, high school, and beyond.
